President: Andy Dangelo

Andy founded Ohio Valley in 1989 and has led it with vision and wisdom through twenty years of dynamic growth. Starting out with a $10,000 investment and only one employee, Andy has seen the company's revenue grow to over $3 million dollars in annual sales with over fifty employees. Equally impressive is that Ohio Valley is consistently recognized for its stellar client service, best-practices in its company culture and its award winning work.

Andy's love of landscaping began at a young age and he pursued this passion by obtaining a landscape design degree from Ohio State University in 1985. He later became a certified arborist, recognized by the International Society of Arboriculture. Andy has been a resident of the Chagrin Valley his entire life and is responsible for the design and installation of many of the wonderful landscapes in this area. He also plays an active role in his community. He has donated time and service to many local organizations such as the Geauga Park District, Valley Art Center and Magnolia Clubhouse, in University Circle, to name a few.

Vice-President & General Counsel: Kathleen Birkel Dangelo

Kathleen co-founded Ohio Valley with Andy in the first years of their marriage and has been instrumental in crafting the business and financial strategy of Ohio Valley that has allowed it to emerge as a leading landscape company in northeastern Ohio.

Kathleen received her B.A., magna cum laude from Akron University in 1987 and her law degree, summa cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1990. In addition to her role at Ohio Valley, Kathleen practiced law in private practice until 2001 when Ohio Valley's growth demanded her full attention.

In addition to her role as legal counsel for the company, Kathleen is responsible for all of the financial activities of the company including banking and financial relationships. She also oversees the information systems, insurance functions and plays a critical role in the development and implementation of business strategies.

Vice-President of Sales and Operations: Jay Schwartz

Jay has been involved in the landscape industry for over twenty-five years. Jay earned his Bachelor’s degree from Tiffin University and has continued his green-industry education since. Jay lives in Columbia Station with his wife and two sons.

Jay previously owned J & K Landscapes & Design, Inc. for ten years--- building loyalty with satisfied clients and creating beautiful landscapes that continue to delight. In 2009, Ohio Valley acquired J & K to allow it to effectively service the western and southern areas of Cleveland.

Jay’s primary function is to grow Ohio Valley’s west and south side presence. Jay’s expertise lies in his landscape construction and excavation. His designs and implementations have won numerous awards. He will expand Ohio Valley’s presence by identifying new projects as well as cross-selling all of Ohio Valley’s services.

Landscape Sales: Keith J. Laninga, ASLA

Keith grew up in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University in 1988 with a bachelor degree in Landscape Architecture. He moved to Ohio in 1990 and lives in Bainbridge with his wife and two children. Keith has been involved in landscaping for over twenty-five years and is well-versed in all aspects of it. During his career, he has earned and participated in state and national awards for landscape design and construction.

Landscape Sales: Mike Rossi

Mike is responsible for growing Ohio Valley’s core maintenance services. Mike joined Ohio Valley in 2005 after nearly 30 years experience in landscape maintenance. In addition to his role in developing the firm’s maintenance accounts, Mike has developed a safety program that has been instrumental in providing the safe work environment that is a hallmark of Ohio Valley.

Mike is has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Cleveland State University and is an Ohio Certified Nursery Technician, specializing in residential property maintenance. Mike is critical to Ohio Valley’s success in developing long terms relationships with Ohio Valley’s clients.

Landscape Maintenance Manager: John Knall

John is responsible for managing the equipment, inventory and storage yard. John’s association with Ohio Valley began in 2002 when he was hired as a maintenance crew leader. His tenure in that position has given him the insight necessary in his present managerial position.

John is a PLANET Lawnscape Industry Certified Manager in Lawn Care.

Office Manager: Mary D'Ambrosia

Mary is the Office Manager for Ohio Valley. Mary has been with Ohio Valley since 1998. She has been with Ohio Valley since 1998 and oversees all office procedures as well as many human resource functions.

Office Administrator: Beverly Ries

Beverly is the Office Administrator and assists in scheduling as well as the generation of proposals, reports and other related functions.
