Indian Hills Park Wetland Renovation 8/2/2016

This wetland renovation process at Indian Hills Park in Ashtabula Township centered around restoration of the area to its natural wetlands state. That goal was accomplished by installing a weir to control the water levels and adding plants typically native to Ohio wetlands. An elevated boardwalk was constructed to lead visitors to a viewing platform within the wetlands. The rustic construction allows for the preservation of picturesque wildlife. Walking paths along the river were installed for observation, as well as a primitive canoe launch, inviting patrons to bring their own boats. An unkempt wetland area evolved to a beautifully guided nature walk!
